The kayak leg of yesterday’s Ski To Sea race had kind of a serene, idyllic look to it, from my vantage point at Boulevard Park. In this case, however, a picture is not worth a thousand words; as the Bellingham Herald reports this morning, this year’s race was plagued by a host of problems.

On the other hand, the weather was as fine as we could have wished for, both Saturday and Sunday.

Ski To Sea 2008: Problematic. When the times were reviewed
to adjust for leg cancellations and differing release times
for various teams, the 1st-3rd places were as follows: Open
Division and overall crown -Bagelry Team; 2nd Place -
