The “Kaisei,” one of the many tall ships that will be present at Tall Ships Victoria.
If the Tall Ships Tacoma festival (July 3-7) doesn’t fit into your schedule, then maybe Tall Ships Victoria, held in the city’s inner harbo(u)r June 26-29, will. If you’re also a jazz lover, then you’re in for a special treat, because both Victoria’s 24th Annual Jazzfest and Vancouver’s International Jazz Festival are running concurrently with the Tall Ships fest. Add to this Cirque Du Soleil Corteo under the Grand Chapiteau at Concord Pacific Place in Vancouver, and you have all the elements of a romantic getaway. But there’s more: there’s the Victoria Andy Warhol Exhibit perhaps followed by High Tea at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria.
Other things to do and see in Victoria:
- Royal British Columbia Museum: Stupendous. Truly world class.
- National Geographic IMAX Theatre
- Royal London Wax Museum
- Tour Craigdarroch Castle
- World Famous Butchart Gardens
And more. I’ll leave you to explore on your own.
