Taste of Tacoma, Tacoma’s “Ultimate Family Picnic” happens this weekend, June 27-29 at Point Defiance Park [map]. The festival features four music stages and one comedy stage, and enough tasty food to make your eyes bulge (and maybe your belly, too). Chicken artichoke crepes, Baby Back Ribs, Cilantro Salmon, Gyros (vegetarian, too), Lousiana Gumbo, Cheesecake, Alligator on a stick/Jambalaya, Curry Goat, old-fashioned frankfurters, slow-smoked Kahlua pork, and a whole lot more. Add to this an array of decadent desserts, and “Wine and Roses” in the Point Defiance Park Rose Garden, and you’ve got a four star festival. Better yet - the weather is predicted to be “NW premium summer” this weekend, so what better time to get outdoors and enjoy some good food, drink, and entertainment in one of the region’s finest parks?
This year, no food item is more than $6.00, and to boost the savings, you may buy a $20.00 book of food tickets for $17.00
