Your webmaster has a summer cold - his first in many years. I probably won’t even make it out to the NW Washington Fair this year unless I show dramatic improvement in the next couple of days. Knowing myself and how long it takes me to work through a cold, however, that’s not going to happen.

As a matter of fact, I’m going to take the next few days off from updating anything on GreatNorthwest. Hot weather, summer cold, no air-conditioning…I feel yucky, and I’m mean as a bear.

The calendars are fully populated with the events that are happening over the next couple days and the weekend - so be sure to check them if you’re looking to get out and about this weekend. Obviously, here in Whatcom County, the NW Washington Fair will be an enormous draw on Saturday. The Fair at the PNE in Vancouver also kicks off this Saturday, Aug. 16, and runs through Sept. 1.
