• Skagit River Family Festival, Rockport, Washington, September 6, 2008What: FREE music, food, and fun for the whole family. Among the festival events are:  demonstrations of fly casting by local expert Deene Almvig - presentations in the newly opened Skagit River Interpretive Center - archeology exhibit by local archeologist Kelly Bush - guided tours of salmon habitat restoration project along the Skagit River Walk Trail - local storyteller Jim Harris will discuss life on the Upper Skagit when the only way to cross the river was by ferry - grilled burgers by The Lunch Box - local music by John Parent, Jane Selin and friends - an opportunity meet Sammy Salmon and some real baby salmon!
